A lace base is a fine mesh that lets air and moisture through. That's why wearers who run hot, sweat easily or want the lightest feel tend to choose lace. The trade-off is cleanup: residue can get into the mesh, so it takes more care than a poly base.

Every lace hair system and lace toupee here is made with human hair on Swiss or French lace. Some are full lace. Others pair a lace top with a clear PU edge for structure. Grey options differ by model, so check the product page if you wear grey.

Full lace, or a lace top with a PU edge

Full lace. The whole base is lace, with bleached knots along the front 1": Full Swiss Lace Men's Hair System (HS7), Full Swiss Lace System With Remy hair (HS7R), Full French Lace Hair System (HS7F), Full Lace Hair System (HS7FM) and Super Fine Swiss Lace Hair System (SUNNY). It's the lightest option here, and it needs gentle handling. On HS7 and HS7R the front knots aren't bleached in the darkest (#1, #1A) or lightest (#7, #7ASH, #18, #22) colors.

Lace top, PU edge. A clear PU edge adds structure. Australia Men's Lace Hair System, Australia with Scallop Front Mens Hair System and French Lace Hair System (New Australia) have a clear PU perimeter. On both Australia models the hairline is PU too, and the Scallop Front model has a #1 scallop. Swiss Lace Hair System (N6), Swiss Lace Top Men's Hair System (N6M) and Lace Hair System With PU Back and Sides (NCT) have PU on the sides and back. N6 and N6M have a 1" bleached front hairline. NCT has a double-layer lace front with a bleached hairline.

Lace with a separate front strip. Hair System with Thin Skin Perimeter (Hollywood) is French lace with a thin clear PU perimeter, which is the "thin skin" in its name, and a 1/2" Swiss lace front. Men's Lace Toupee With NPU Perimeter (D7-5) is Swiss lace with a 1" PU perimeter and a 1/8" folded lace front. Both are also on our Lace Front page.

Swiss or French lace

We carry both. Swiss lace: HS7, HS7R, SUNNY (super fine Swiss), N6, N6M, both Australia models and D7-5. French lace: HS7F, HS7FM, NCT, the French Lace Hair System (New Australia) and the body of Hollywood, whose front strip is Swiss. Replacing a Swiss lace or French lace toupee? Listed densities run from 90% to 120%. Two pairs share a build: N6 (100%) and N6M (120%), and HS7F (100–110%) and HS7FM (120%).

Questions about lace hair systems

Is lace harder to look after than a poly base?

It takes more care at cleanup, because residue can get into the mesh and the lace needs a gentle hand. A PU edge helps: the listings for N6 and the French Lace Hair System describe their PU as making attachment and cleanup easier.

How often should a lace system be washed?

What's the difference between N6 and N6M?

They share the same build: Swiss lace with clear PU on the sides and back and a 1" bleached front hairline. N6 is 100% density and N6M is 120%. Their sizes and colors differ, so check each product page for what you can order now.

Do any lace systems use Remy hair?

Yes: Full Swiss Lace System With Remy hair (HS7R). The other lace systems here are listed as human hair.
